Finishing Metals!

Working with metal was the toughest things we took on this year. The process entails a lot of upper body muscle and endurance! It really is just like a workout. The process is tiring and takes a lot of patience, which sometimes frustrated me, but eventually I got the hang of it. All the hard work paid off, and everyone's unique piece of metal looks great and symbolizes their personalities. In the end I loved creating art with metal and loved the way my piece turned out!

Clay!

I'm so excited to be doing clay! Working with wet clay is my favorite thing we do throughout the whole year. Clay is the one thing in art that I found to be most enjoyable. Being able to work with a slab of literally wet dirt and be able to bring it to life is something special. Working with clay gives the opportunity to be able to create something that is your own out of limited material. This year I am working on a set that symbolizes my family, our heritage and our strength.  The pieces are 2 plates, 2 serving dishes, a bowl that has been crafted as a gondola and a leaning tower of Pisa cup. I Incorporated  an Italian theme, because that is something my family is proud of!  Now that my pieces are created, it is time to fire and glaze!
