End Of The Year.
Art has always had a place in my heart, but as I grow older i begin to enjoy it more and more. i think what I find so amazing about it is the fact to honestly do whatever you want. Im art mot one person is allowed to tell you no or thats not right. Unlike any other school subject there is an answer and only one answer. that stops once I enter the serene art room. I feel free and that my options are wide open. This year, once again has been great. The highlight of this year was the large self portraits. I love painting with a passion so I found such pleasure in it. The fact that i could use my favorite color scheme of black and white was awesome, and of course my unique and sassy pose. I learned a lot about time management as well, and having your priorities straight when it comes to assignments. Drawing, something I rather not do actually was not too bad this year. I think it was because I kept an open eye to new things, which I learned through experience is key to life.  I cant image not having an art class in my day to instantly pick me up, or calm me down. Art, I thank you, its been a great run.
My Place setting is something much more meaningful then something to eat off of, or drink out of. This marking period, we were assigned a project, one in which I found extremely difficult. Usually, I grasp on to new projects very easily, but not this one. It took me 4 days to finally decide on how to tackle this project. The assignment was to create a place setting as a tribute to another person, who means a lot to you. Well, being an only child, I felt that my parents were the perfect people. It turned out not only being my parents, but the whole idea of family and how special my family is. We, as full blooded Italians take a lot of pride in that, so my theme was inevitably Italy and Family. I created a bowl to symbolize a gondola, the only form of transportation on a city that lies on water, Venice. Then came my serving bowl which was designed to showoff the Italian olive and leave branches around the rim of the bowl. 2 plates were next, with a waving persona about them. These 2 smaller plates were the Italian waving flag. Also created was a cup, this cup looks like it will fall at any moment, but I assure you if the real tower can stay up for 100 years so can this Leaning Tower of Pisa cup. The color scheme is red, browns, green, and gold to symbolize and connect the Italian culture color wise. Although, this was a more difficult project, It was one that I enjoyed very much because the meaning behind it is family and the bond we share through our heritage.
